Tortuguero
Mawamba Lodge, Tortuguero National Park Located on the Northeast area of Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, between the Tortuguero Lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. By land is a 3 hours drive from San Jose towards the Port of Marina followed by a 2 to 2 1/2 riverboat trip along the Canals of Tortuguero to Mawamba Lodge. By air, take a 30 minutes flight from San Jose to Tortuguero Airstrip. This airstrip is just 5 minutes boat-ride to the lodge. Laguna Tortuguero Lodge - This small and cozy lodge, especially designed for the complete enjoyment of the natural marvels of the Tortuguero National Park, is located on a narrow stip of land between the Caribbean sea and the Tortuguero Lagoon. It offers direct access to the beach known as the most important nesting site for the green sea turtle throughout the entire Western Hemisphere (July through October).
