The woods serve as a sanctuary for a large number of mammals and innumerable species of insects, amphibians, amazing plants and colorful birds, a paradise for birdwatchers. Genesis II Cloudforest Lodge is located high in the Talamanca Mountains of Costa Rica, an easy 1 ½ hour drive south from San Jose. At 2360 metres (7500 feet) above sea level the air is clean and crisp. Our 38 Hectare (95 Acres) property is part of a buffer zone to the largest protected area in southern Central America and is Costa Ricas newest and highest Private Wildlife Refuge.
